Reader Review: Blueland Hand Soap

In the quest to remove more plastic from our daily lives, I've been testing out alternative, plastic-free products that I can share with you. My friend Lydia is on the same quest. She generously shared her thoughts on Blueland, a company that offers no-waste, refillable household cleaning options. Lydia took their Foaming Hand Soap for a spin - here's what she thought:

"At the start of the pandemic, many households scrambled to purchase hand soap in whatever form they could find. My household was no different and all of the sudden I found that we were drowning in single-use plastic hand soap bottles. Many companies such as Method offer refills, but even these come in plastic packaging. My research for a more sustainable option led to Blueland.

Blueland offers a variety of cleaning products including a foaming hand soap. The soap comes to you in dissolving tablets that you drop in a foaming hand soap dispenser and voila, you have hand soap. You can reuse a plastic bottle you already have or purchase one of Bluelands glass bottles. The concept is great. The tablet packaging is compostable, and the scents subtle yet fresh.

What I love: Have you ever noticed that most of your hand soap is water anyway? You provide the water, they provide the soap!

Wish I could change: I opted to buy the Blueland dispenser which works well, my only critique is that the Blueland etching on the top of the dispenser holds onto dirt and grime.

Sustainability rating: 4/5 Otters (my spirit animal :) )"  Thanks Lydia!! If you have a product review you'd like to share, send it to HelloPostIndustry@gmail.com.
